Our protagonist, Claire, is working in the labyrinthine bureaucracy of the Solar Admiral Ship, the Monolith, and her life feels like a dead-end. Suffocated by unjust and absurd laws and regulations, she looks for an escape, first through entertainment and hedonism, then through counter-culture and passive resistance and finally by planning her actual escape from the Monolith with a group of fellow freedom-seekers. Will they manage to steal a rocket and escape towards the sun?

Towards the Sun was first publishing in 2019 on Space Vikings & Other Stories. This is a new edit of the piece that removes the long musical segue that tied the piece to Rubicon, in order to allow the track to better stand on it's own.
